Kids say....

Well I just had to post on here something that one of my kids at work told me...

I had a 4th grade girl in my room, ok first, let me back up.... Last week the 4th graders here took a field trip up to Mt. Hope cemetary to do different activites with the headstones. I guess it is a great field trip and the kids absolutely love it--plus they learn a lot too.

So back to my 4th grade girl... She came into speech pretty serious and said, Mrs. Hall, can I talk to you about something? Of course..... I say sure. It's always interesting what these kids have to say....and I usually get an earful of random things that they, their parents or their pets have done recently. Well, this time it was different. This little girls says, so you know that fieldtrip we went on? Yes, I do.... Well, I got to see your son's headstone, and it was so pretty. So I just looked at her and said, yeah...we like it too. She proceeds to tell me...can I tell you something else? Of course...I said yes. She says, Well...I stood next to your son and I said a prayer for you and your husband and your son. I don't want you to feel sad, so I said a prayer. I didn't want anyone to make fun of me, so I just said it to myself.
WOW.
I wanted to start crying as we were sitting in my room. I held it in and thanked her for being so thoughtful.

Just one of those things that can make your day. You just never know what kinds of things that kids will say...
